Ok Ok - I'm back again!

So I said I would be back to post more frequently. Clearly - I lied. :( Bummer. I am really going to try to be here more often! I know for me personally, I love reading blogs that have the personal story behind the business so that is what I will try to do here!

So what is happening this week in the world of LoveMich and home? Well the two actually blend together, I'm not sure there really is a divide between them!

Moving on- affectionately, we tend to call my fiance/other half "Mr. LoveMich" partly because it's super funny and partly because he truly is a big part of the business! He is the person I bounce all of my ideas off of. Yup - even at 12am when I should be sleeping, I blab and blab about my ideas for LoveMich and he very kindly listens and responds. Isn't he the best! Further than just that, he helps when the cutting and ironing get out of control for just me and does the majority of the shipping. And even more so, he keeps me in check on so many levels, good and bad. When I want to buy something that isn't super necessary, he reminds me of the bottom line. When I am over stressed and want to throw my hands up, he reminds me why I love to do what I do and that I am just stressed and it'll pass. He is my favorite person. :)

What else is going on over here? OH! I was in the newspaper again! You can read the article here!

Hmm what else...well I could tell you about wedding planning...but then you won't have a reason to come back! So I'll save it for another day!

Love,
Mich

P.S. - Leave me a comment! I love to read them!! :)

Good Morning! & Behind the Scenes!

Good Morning! I thought I'd post some pics of the behind the scenes of making my bags and accessories. I think really I just wanted to take a break from the sewing! haha A popular question is "How long does it take you to make a bag?" Well - depending on the size of the bag/accessory, it can take anywhere from an hour to 9 or 10 hours! There are so many steps that go into making a bag. The first being to cut everything out, then ironing and interfacing, then I usually sew as many pieces as I can independently so when its time to assemble the bag, all my pieces are ready! Sewing really is a great hobby! If you've never tried and are interested, I suggest giving it a shot! I really did not have a sewing background when I got my first sewing machine, I just bought some patterns and kept trying. I also tore apart bags of my own to see how they were made. It was definitely a trial & error process and my skills have grown so much! The pics are of Marie Bags in process and Mini-Zippys in progress! Enjoy! :) Love-Mich

Hello from Chance's Corner!

Hi blog-lovers. My name is Chance! I am the loyal pup and mascot of The Love, Mich Collection owner, Michelle and Mr. Love-Mich, Glenn. This place is getting so busy with the Holidays right around the corner that I'm afraid they will put me to work soon!

While I am currently unattended, I thought I'd introduce myself. Here is a little about me:
I love to be with my parents.
I love to snuggle.
I especially love sitting/sleeping on some one's lap.
I also enjoy chasing squirrels.
I will do just about anything for a treat.
I force my parents to walk me multiple times a day to breathe in that fresh air!
I have a whole basket of toys, but I prefer to chew holes into fresh tennis balls.
I enjoy sleeping under my Momma's sewing table while she works, but I often get thread all over my paws and toys. (Not happy about that)
My parents know instantly when I'm up to something, although I really try to hide it.
My favorite time of year is the winter because my parents stay home with me and we watch movies.

Ut-oh, I have to run, time to get in another walk before it rains. I will visit again. Please enjoy the picture of myself. I was just a pup in this picture but don't I look cute! :)

Ok...so it really has been a LONG time...

Well it's been well over a year since my last post...wow. My apologies! Many things have changed with Love-Mich...although many have stayed the same! We have some awesome support from a wonderful photographer (www.becki-martin.com)who has taken some really great pictures of our bags and accessoires. She has also shared Love-Mich with many of her friends and family for which I am greatly appreciative!

As far as how you can get your very own Love-Mich bag or accessory...the best and funnest (is that a word??) way is to host a Purse Party! I will bring all the goodies and you shop from your seat! Another great way to get in on the Love-Mich action is visiting my online shop www.lovemichcollection.etsy.com You can purchase many ready-made items and also many "Design Your Own" items right through the shop.

We are now featuring gift cards as well! Any amount you wish :)

If you are local (Western Mass) and if you are not (take a road trip!) please stop by and visit me at St. David's Episcopal Church, Feeding Hills, MA on Oct. 22, 2011 from 10am - 2pm! Get a jump on your Holiday shopping with some fabulous and unique gifts. I will also have a few items that are only available in person!

Ok, that is all for now... but I WILL BE BACK! :)
